About This Collection
With close to three hundred prints, this collection covers a lot of ground: pets, woodland animals, farm animals, sea creatures and birds, in styles that run from William Morris to Japanese woodblock to bathroom humour. It divides into five strands.
Dog prints make up the best-selling strand. The Whippet Morning Quote Print, with its "Oooooh Big Stretch", is the best seller in the whole collection, followed closely by the Greyhound Rise and Shine Print. The Floral Whippet Print and the Dachshund Definition Print come next, and the breed portraits cover everything from pugs and beagles to Bernese mountain dogs and Staffordshire bull terriers. Sighthound owners are, on the evidence, especially well served.
Cat prints are the second strand, with a lean towards cats doing very little. The Sleeping Cat Japanese Print and the Sleeping Tabby Cat Print are the most popular, and the Black Cat Reading Print and the Say When Cat Wine Print cover the cat's other main interests.
The Japanese animal prints bring in the birds, fish and big cats. The Flying Cranes Print and the Koi Fish Shoal Print are the calmest pieces in the collection, while the Japanese heron, peacock, cheetah and black panther prints add more drama.
The William Morris animal prints set woodland creatures among dense botanical patterns. The William Morris Hedgehog Print and the William Morris Pheasant Print sit alongside a squirrel and a pair of white doves, and they suit rooms with warm, layered colour and a bit of heritage.
Farm, field and funny animals round things out: the Highland Cow Print, the Cow Yoga Print, the Japanese Frog Bathroom Print, cowboy cats, cowgirl horses and a good number of ducks with wine.
For individual animals, the dog prints collection, cat prints collection, duck prints collection and horse prints collection each gather one species in one place.
What rooms suit animal wall art?
Living rooms suit the William Morris animals, the Japanese cranes and the larger breed portraits. At A2 or A1, a single animal print can anchor the wall above a sofa or fireplace.
Bedrooms suit the sleeping cats and the reading animals, from the Black Cat Reading Print to reading dogs, horses, ducks and mice. A print of an animal asleep has an obvious appeal in a room designed for the same purpose.
Kitchens and bathrooms suit the funny animals: wine-drinking cats and dogs in the kitchen, and the Japanese bathroom prints and the Are You Pooping? series in the bathroom.
For a gallery wall, animal prints mix well with the botanical backgrounds of the William Morris prints collection and the woodblock style of the Japanese prints collection. Mixing species tends to look better than a wall of one animal, unless it's your animal.
Frequently Asked Questions
What animals are in this collection?
Dogs across dozens of breeds; cats including tabbies, black cats, ginger cats, Siamese and Persian; ducks and geese; frogs; horses; highland cows; hedgehogs, squirrels, pheasants and doves in the William Morris style; cranes, herons, koi, peacocks, cheetahs and panthers in the Japanese prints; and a supporting cast of octopuses, lobsters, a seal, a snail, a robin, monkeys, pandas, tigers, chickens and a huddle of arctic foxes.
Are animal prints good gifts?
Animal prints are one of the easiest gifts to get right, because most people have an animal they love and very few have a good print of it. Match the breed or species to the recipient: breed portraits and reading dogs for dog owners, sleeping and reading cats for cat people, and the William Morris animal prints for anyone who likes their animals with a bit of botanical grandeur.
How do I mix animal prints on a gallery wall?
Pick a common thread, either a style or a colour, and vary the animals. Three William Morris prints hang together because of the pattern, and three Japanese prints because of the woodblock look, even with completely different animals in each. The buy 2, save 10%; buy 3, save 15% offer is applied automatically at checkout, which helps when building a wall.
What sizes are available?
Most prints are available in sizes from 5x7 up to A1, with both metric and US paper sizes. Full size options are shown on each individual product page. Breed portraits and William Morris prints suit A2 or A1 in living rooms, while A4 and A3 work for bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms.
Can all prints be ordered framed?
Yes. All prints can be ordered framed. We're rolling framed options out across the site, so individual listings will show whether a framed version is currently available. If you'd like a framed version of a print that doesn't yet have that option listed, get in touch and we'll sort it for you.
What is the print quality like?
Prints are produced on FSC-certified 200gsm fine art paper using a 12-colour press with a matte, glare-free finish.
