Collection: Poem Wall Art Prints

Poem prints are the kind of wall art people stop and read, which is rather the point. This collection sets more than twenty poems and passages as prints, from Yeats's The Lake Isle of Innisfree and Max Ehrmann's Desiderata to Kipling's If, Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Keats and Poe. Some are for steadying yourself, some are love poems, and a few are for the evenings when only a bleak bit of Frost will do. Hung in a bedroom, a study or a hallway, a good poem does something few other prints manage: it says something slightly different each time you read it.

About This Collection

The poems in this collection fall into three loose groups.

Yeats. W.B. Yeats has the largest presence, with eight prints. The Lake Isle of Innisfree Poem Print is the one most people come looking for, and it sits alongside He and She, A Cradle Song, The Four Ages of Man, A Needle's Eye, Men Improve With The Years, A Drinking Song and A Dream of Death.

Poems to live by. The Rudyard Kipling If Poem Print is the best seller in the collection, and it keeps good company: the Desiderata Poem Print by Max Ehrmann, Invictus by William Ernest Henley, Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken, Emily Dickinson's Hope is the Thing With Feathers, Tennyson's The Oak and a Walt Whitman poem.

Love, and the darker stuff. Shakespeare Sonnet 116 and John Donne's A Valediction are the collection's love poems, both long-standing choices for weddings and anniversaries. At the other end, Frost's Fire and Ice, Keats's Ode to a Nightingale and Edgar Allan Poe's A Dream and To the River are for readers who like their poetry with the lights down.

For more word-led prints, the typography prints collection and the literature prints collection both go further, and the romantic wall art collection is a natural next stop after Sonnet 116.

What rooms suit poem prints?

Bedrooms are where poem prints get read most, usually last thing at night. The love poems and quieter pieces such as Sara Teasdale's Peace suit a bedside wall, and the bedroom collection has more for that room.

Hallways suit the poems to live by. If or Desiderata by the front door makes a small daily reminder, whether or not you asked for one.

Studies and reading corners suit the Yeats prints and the darker Frost and Poe poems, ideally near a shelf that already holds the collected works.

For a gallery wall, two or three poem prints hang best with pictures in between, so the text has room. Pieces from the minimalist wall art collection work well alongside.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which poems and poets are in this collection?

Yeats has eight poems, including The Lake Isle of Innisfree. The rest come from Rudyard Kipling (If), Max Ehrmann (Desiderata), William Ernest Henley (Invictus), Shakespeare (Sonnet 116), Robert Frost (three poems), Emily Dickinson, John Keats, John Donne, Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Sara Teasdale and Joseph Addison, plus an F. Scott Fitzgerald quote.

Are poem prints good gifts?

Poem prints are one of the more personal gifts you can give without it getting awkward, because the poem does the talking. Sonnet 116 and A Valediction suit weddings and anniversaries, If and Invictus suit graduations and new jobs, Desiderata suits a new home, and Innisfree suits anyone who has ever wanted to leave for somewhere quieter.

Do poem prints work as a set?

Yes. Because they're all text-led, a pair of love poems above a bed or three Yeats prints along a hallway reads as a set. Buy 2, save 10%; buy 3, save 15%, applied automatically at checkout.

What sizes are available?

Most prints are available in sizes from 5x7 up to A1, with both metric and US paper sizes. Full size options are shown on each individual product page. Longer poems such as Desiderata and If read best at A3 or larger, while shorter pieces like Fire and Ice work well at A4 on a bedside wall.

Can all prints be ordered framed?

Yes. All prints can be ordered framed. We're rolling framed options out across the site, so individual listings will show whether a framed version is currently available. If you'd like a framed version of a print that doesn't yet have that option listed, get in touch and we'll sort it for you.

What is the print quality like?

Prints are produced on FSC-certified 200gsm fine art paper using a 12-colour press with a matte, glare-free finish. The matte finish keeps text clear from any angle, without the glare that can make a glossy poem hard to follow.

Where do you ship and how long does delivery take?

We ship worldwide via Gelato's global print network, meaning your order is fulfilled close to where you live. Every print is made to order and dispatched promptly, then arrives within 2 to 5 business days of dispatch. Free shipping applies to US and UK orders.
