Collection: White Wall Art Prints

White wall art is the easiest way to add something to a room without making it feel any smaller. Every print in this collection gives white a leading role in the palette, whether as open space around a single subject or as the subject itself, as in a white lotus or a white cactus flower. The range is broad: Japanese-inspired cranes, koi and forests, cats and greyhounds, soft florals, and a surprising amount of kitchen and bathroom typography. Most of it suits pale walls, small rooms and anyone who wants a calm wall with something worth looking at on it.

Your choice. Every print is available unframed, or framed in white, light wood, dark wood or black. Pick your frame on the print's page.

Which size should I choose?

A4 and A3 are our most popular sizes for shelves, hallways and gallery walls; 50x70 cm and A2 make a statement above a sofa or bed. Each print page has a size guide.

How long does delivery take?

Every print is made to order and dispatched promptly, then arrives within 2–5 business days of dispatch. Shipping is free to the UK and US, and you'll get tracking by email.

How does Buy 2, save 10% work?

About This Collection

Decorating with white is mostly about restraint, but white prints aren't blank ones. The pieces here use white to let the subject breathe, which is why they suit Scandinavian, Japandi and minimalist rooms, and why they rarely fight with whatever else is on the wall. The collection falls into four main strands.

Japanese-inspired prints are the largest strand, and include the collection's best seller, the Natural Forest Print. The Flying Cranes Print and the Koi Fish Shoal Print are close behind, and the Wisteria Cascade Print and the White Lotus Print bring the botanical side of the same tradition. These are the prints that make the case for Japandi wall art: quiet compositions with plenty of space around them. There's more in the same vein in the Japanese prints collection.

Cats and dogs come next. The Black Cat Reading Print and the Greyhound Wine Print are the most popular: one a cat who has found a better use for the evening than socialising, the other a greyhound with a glass of wine and no obvious intention of sharing. The Cats on Clouds Print is gentler, and the desk series, including the Border Collie at Desk Print, a black cat, a yellow labrador and, in the interests of workplace diversity, a robot, suits home offices.

Florals and soft geometry cover the calmer end: the Dahlia Bouquet Print, iris and plum blossom prints, the flower grid prints, and the Bauhaus 1923 Print with its circles and pattern companions.

Kitchen and bathroom typography is the unexpectedly large strand. The Yes Chef Kitchen Print and the Bon Appétit, Merci, Bonjour and Ciao prints give a kitchen a café accent, while the This Shower Is For Singing Print and the peach prints (Nice Bum, Wash Ya Bum, Peachy Clean) make their point in the bathroom with the directness bathrooms require.

White pairs naturally with its opposite: the black wall art collection covers much of the same range in darker palettes, and plenty of prints appear in both. For a warmer neutral, try the beige wall art collection, and for pared-back pieces, the minimalist prints collection.

What rooms suit white wall art?

Small rooms and north-facing rooms benefit most. A print that's mostly white keeps a small hallway, box room or cloakroom feeling open, and in a room short on daylight it won't swallow what light there is.

Bedrooms suit the Japanese-inspired prints and the florals. The Flying Cranes Print or the Wisteria Cascade Print above a bed gives the room a focal point without keeping anyone awake.

Kitchens and bathrooms suit the typography. White is the natural partner for tiles, marble and white units, so a white typography print reads as part of the room rather than something stuck on it.

For a gallery wall, white prints are the easiest to mix. Pair them with black prints for a crisp monochrome wall, or with sunny scenes like the Olive Tree Courtyard Print from the summer prints collection for something warmer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is white wall art?

White wall art is any print where white does a lot of the visual work, as background, negative space or the main colour of the subject. It's a practical choice for pale walls and minimalist rooms because it adds interest without adding visual weight.

Does white wall art work on white walls?

Yes, and it's one of the most common ways to use it. White on white relies on the print's other colours and the frame to create contrast, so a black, oak or walnut frame helps a white print stand out on a white wall. On darker walls, white prints do the opposite and become the brightest thing in the room.

Are white prints good gifts?

They're a safe choice when you don't know someone's decor well, since white prints fit almost any room. The Black Cat Reading Print suits bookish cat owners, the Greyhound Wine Print suits greyhound owners and wine drinkers (the overlap is larger than you'd think), and the Japanese-inspired prints suit anyone setting up a new home.

What sizes are available?

Most prints are available in sizes from 5x7 up to A1, with both metric and US paper sizes. Full size options are shown on each individual product page. In small rooms and bathrooms, A4 and A3 keep things light, while above a bed or sofa, A2 or A1 lets the white space do its job.

Can all prints be ordered framed?

Yes. All prints can be ordered framed. We're rolling framed options out across the site, so individual listings will show whether a framed version is currently available. If you'd like a framed version of a print that doesn't yet have that option listed, get in touch and we'll sort it for you.

What is the print quality like?

Prints are produced on FSC-certified 200gsm fine art paper using a 12-colour press with a matte, glare-free finish. The matte finish suits white-heavy prints in particular, since pale areas stay soft and even rather than catching the light from a window.

Where do you ship and how long does delivery take?

We ship worldwide via Gelato's global print network, meaning your order is fulfilled close to where you live. Every print is made to order and dispatched promptly, then arrives within 2 to 5 business days of dispatch. Free shipping applies to US and UK orders.
