Description

This dog days print captures an orange dog stretched flat out in a dark green field, with a huge red sun rising behind a sage-grey horizon band and a pale blue sky above it. The word 'dog days' is hand-lettered in loose black crayon beneath the scene, and the whole thing is built from flat, textured colour blocks that keep the hand-drawn, slightly scratchy character of the original crayon work. The folk art palette and bold shapes suit a living room, nursery or home office, and it reads as much as a nod to lazy summer afternoons as it does a portrait of a specific dog who refuses to move from the warmest patch of floor. It's a good fit for anyone who likes their wall art a little playful rather than purely decorative. It's available in multiple sizes, professionally printed on FSC-certified 200gsm fine art paper with a soft matte finish and rich, detailed colour, so the grain of the paper and the crayon marks in the lettering still come through at any size. It's a nice one for a dog owner's hallway, especially if their own dog does the same flat-out, paws-everywhere sprawl the moment the sun comes out.

This print is gorgeous. I had originally planned to hang it elsewhere, but it is so lovely that I made it the focal point of the living room. We ordered it framed and the frame is nice quality, too.

Exactly as described and arrived quickly. I misjudged the sizing a bit, so there is no white border on top, but that’s a me problem. I’m super happy with my purchase regardless and would absolutely buy from this store again. Very high quality print.
